3365D54D-8981-44D7-A2E2-7B709573C1C3_1_105_c.jpeg

Plan:

- Cut some clay from my wedged clay

- Roll into a ball

- Flatten the ball to put it under the slab machine

- Take rolled out clay and put it over a plastic plate

- Start to underglaze

-Sgraffito

I am very happy with how this turned out, I like the underglaze colors I chose to make more of a gradient. Once it was fired once i like how nit turned out anmd clear glazded it. If i were to redo it, I eould have made the clay a bit thcker nad even on all sides of the plate.

Relief Carving

IMG_2854_edited.jpg

I do not like how this turned out. I didn't think that relief tiles are my thing for ceramics. I tried to restart it many times, but I never liked the result. If I were to make it again, I might try a different shape, perhaps not a star. I did not choose to glaze it or put it in the kiln.

Plan:

- Cut some clay from my wedged clay

- Flatten the wedged clay into an even surface

- Cut into a square

- trace out the stars

 - Carve the outside of the stars so they pop out

Coil Building

- put inro extruchtrer machine

- cut coils into lines

-roll them into circles and coils

- Fire

- Glaze

This process wasn't my favorite. I tried first to roll them, but ended up putting them in the excruciator. I do think I liked how the piece looked before I glazed it.

Slab Building w/ Darts

Plan:

- Wedge clay

- Flatten wedged clay

- Create the slab build

-dd darts to the bottom

- Create the cup form

- Add handle (fell off)

- Decorate

I did not end up enjoying this piece; it was meant to be a mug. The handle fell off when it became bone dry. So I cared out small circles to make it look like cheese. Then glazed it yellow and made a cheese cup!
