Life & training
Wassily Kandinsky was a 20th-century abstract artist. He was born in Russia and later studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany. While studying there, he learned many different artistic styles. In the early 1900s, Kandinsky became interested in how color and shapes could express emotions and ideas rather than realistic images. He believed art should reflect inner feelings and spirituality.
This has been one of my favorite ceramics pieces to make this year. I found it very interesting to work with the construction of the shapes and make it 3-D more than just flat. I like how I was able to add the hombre effect within the colors in my under glaze. However, I struggled to keep all the black lines straight.

I’m happy with how it turned out. I do feel that I could’ve made the lines more straight and been more detailed with some aspects. I do enjoy how I made them all very accurate to shape and size on the actual painting. if I would do this again, I would start a bit earlier so I’m able to fully finish my glazing process.
